At Dime Store in downtown Detroit, you can satisfy your craving for breakfast and brunch all day long. The artisanal spot creates elaborate breakfast and lunch dishes and cocktails from scratch, infusing each plate with a dose of culinary creativity.
A group of local friends, Larry Kahn, Ann-Marie Murphy, and Jeff Alexander, opened Dime Store in 2014 because it was the kind of restaurant they always wanted to go to.
With the help of Chef Josh Taylor, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute, they put together an upscale brunch menu that would rotate seasonally to showcase the best offerings year-round.
These are no ordinary brunch dishes. Here you can see the General Tso’s Benny featuring crispy fried chicken and broccoli, tossed in General Tso’s sauce and plated on rice cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise gracing the top. Because, let’s be honest, everything is better with an egg on it.
You can also enjoy items like Duck Bop Hash and Bacon Parm & Truffle Fries on the menu.
On the drink menu, you’ll find your classic brunch drinks like Bloody Mary, mimosa, etc. You’ll also see innovative beverages like an Orange Creamsicle with vodka, vanilla, cream, orange juice, and Faygo orange soda.
There’s something new and exciting to try every time you visit Dime Store because the menu changes seasonally and the chef is always experimenting with specials.
Dime Store is open 8:00 am to 3:00 pm every day but Wednesday. If you’re always craving eggs or can never decide between sweet and savory breakfast food, this restaurant is calling your name.
