This Holland gem offers unparalleled access to these gorgeous flowers, and their annual Tulip Time event is a must-visit festival in Michigan.

You’ll find Veldheer Tulip Gardens up in Holland, an adorable little local best-known as Michigan’s “Tulip City.”

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be amazed by the splendor that surrounds you.

Each and every hue of the rainbow seems to make an appearance among the fields.

With approximately six million tulips to peruse, the array of flowers at Veldheer’s truly feels endless.

You certainly don’t have to be Dutch to appreciate this stunning spot.

Tulips begin to bloom during the last week of April and typically reach peak color around mid-May.

And to commemorate the occasion, each year, Veldheer’s hosts an epic “Tulip Time” festival.

Tulip Time typically happens in early May, and is truly something you must experience.

Bring along your camera and snap a few photos as you make your way through the gardens. You’ll feel as if you’ve entered some sort of natural wonderland.

The gardens themselves were originally established in 1950 by Holland resident Vern Veldheer.

Originally conceived as a “hobby” garden, the first bloom included just 100 white tulips and 300 red tulips. Today, Veldheer’s has millions of these beautiful, colorful blooms.

As if the abundance of tulips weren’t enough, you’ll also find thousands of colorful crocuses, daffodils, and hyacinths to admire among the gardens. What’s not to love?

During your visit, you can even place an order for your very own tulip bulbs.

Bulbs will be delivered to patrons during the fall to be planted, where they’ll bloom beautifully the following spring.
